The College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture is completing a $9.3 million expansion and a $3 million remodeling of its existing building to offer students and faculty state-of-the-art facilities and resources. In addition, there are numerous University facilities available to CALA students and faculty.
Arizona Architectural Archives
The Arizona Architectural Archives contains over 50,000 architectural drawings and office records representing the architectural development of southern Arizona, including the work of architects Henry Jaastad, Roy Place, Josias Joesler, Nicholas Sakellar, and Judith Chafee. The College’s Computer Lab is dual-platform, offering both Windows XP and Mac OS computers, scanners, and printing capabilities. The lab is open most days between 9:00am and 11:00pm, with slightly shortened hours on the weekends. Contact David Bond for more information.
Digital Fabrication Lab The Digital Fabrication Laboratory offers services such as 3D printing, laser cutting and more. The lab is generally open during studio time and evenings during the week. For more information, contact Paulus Musters.
Drachman
Institute
The Drachman Institute is a research and community outreach unit of the
College dedicated to the environmentally sensitive and resource-conscious
development of neighborhoods and communities. Contained within the Drachman
Institute are two other entities: the Drachman Design-Build Coalition, Inc.,
a 501(c)(3) (pending), non-profit corporation, design-build licensed general
contractor established for the purpose of service-learning development and
construction; and WaterCASA, a water conservation research center formerly
part of the Water Resources Center (WRC) and the College of Agriculture

House
Energy Doctor
The House Energy Doctor is an educational, research, and community outreach
program that promotes energy conservation and passive solar design through
field investigation of existing buildings and simulation of new and innovative

Imagen
Imagen is the College's online image database containing over 35,000 images
of architectural and art objects spanning 50,000 years of human cultural
history. The database offers descriptive as well as visual information.
Hundreds of new images are added to the database each year. The IMAGEN
database is intended to support the teaching, learning, and research needs
of the Schools of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Art and contains
images bearing strict copyright limitations. Access to it is therefore restricted
to the faculty, staff, and students affiliated with these schools. Contact

Library
Collections
Books, journals, videos, and reserve materials pertaining to the disciplines
of Architecture and Landscape Architecture can be accessed through Sabio,
the University of Arizona Library's online catalog, and found at the Fine
Arts Library, located on the second floor (Room 233) of the Music

The College recently completed construction of a 7000 sq. ft., state-or-the-art lab space dedicated to building, testing, and learning to use a variety of materials, including ceramics, concrete, glass, metal, wood, synthetics and digital fabrication. Contact Paulus Musters for more information.
Multimedia
Learning Lab (MML)
This is the University’s flagship multimedia location on the campus
with all the hardware and software you could wish for, including those for
3D animations, virtual reality, complex websites, digital video movies,
graphic designs and digital audio compositions.
Office of
Student Computing Resources (OSCR)
In addition to the College’s computing resources, OSCR provides CALA
students, faculty and staff a wealth of university-wide computing resources,
including open-access computer labs, technology help desks, and multi-media
resources that are located throughout the campus.
Smith
House/Center for Preservation Studies
The Smith House serves as the center for the Preservation Studies Program
and the base from which its instructional, research, and community outreach
activities are developed. The 1904 Queen Anne residence, located across
the street from the College, is listed on the National Register of Historic
Places and contains offices, student work stations, a conference room, and

The 2800 sq. ft. gallery is located on the ground floor of the College providing
space for exhibitions of interest to the University, Tucson and Arizona
communities throughout the year. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday,

Tejido Group
The Tejido Group is a collaborative program in which faculty and professionals
work side by side with University students in an apprenticeship style working
/ learning environment. Tejido has worked on projects throughout the United
